(Charlotte Clark, 1940s) An incredibly rare Dumbo doll manufactured by Charlotte Clark, creator of the first Mickey Mouse doll. The talented Clark made a name for herself as the dollmaker Walt and Roy Disney trusted to make high-quality dolls of their beloved characters. Due to their rare nature and incredible craftsmanship, Clark’s dolls remain one of the most desirable Disney collectibles to this day. Due to the size and weight, this doll’ head slumps forward when Dumbo is in a seated position. The original “A Charlotte Cark Creation Made Especially for Walt Disney” tag remains half intact on this scarcely-seen doll. Measuring 11.5” x 8.5” x 17.75” tall, the doll is in good condition with heavy pilling, stains, visible stitches from a previous repair, wear, and discoloration from age. This is the only example of a Charlotte Clark Dumbo Doll that we have ever seen.
