(Disney, 2006) A “Take a Wench for a Bride” auction banner from the short film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code: Wedlocked.” This large banner pays tribute to the one displayed during the infamous auction scene of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The short film was shot by franchise creative consultant and storyboard artist James Ward Byrkit over three days on sets from "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End," which were soon to be demolished. Serving as a prequel to the film series, the short explains why Scarlett and Giselle slap Jack and why Jack's boat is sinking at the beginning of the film. Although filmed in 2006, the short was not widely released until it was included as a special feature in a four-movie Blu-ray box set in 2011. Measuring 14 feet long and 37 inches wide, the banner is in very good condition, showing only light fading on the lettering, some wear, and intentional distress throughout. Due to size and weight, this item requires special shipping arrangements. Please inquire before bidding.
