(Schlesinger, 1942) A collection of 11 production drawings from "Horton Hatches the Egg." Included are four rough animation drawings of the three elephant hunters, and seven drawings of Maysie, the Mother Bird who convinces Horton to sit on her egg. One drawing of Maysie is from her earliest appearance in the short, and the other six are from a deleted shot in which she is depicted as mad enough to chew or spit nails. Accomplished with graphite and colored pencil on 9.5" x 12" animation paper, the drawings are in very good condition with typical light wear from production use and age.
