(Houston Astroworld, 1968) A set of design blueprints by Harper Goff for the Houston Astroworld Hotel. Judge Roy Hofheinz was a larger-than-life figure in Houston, who wanted everything for his Hotel and entertainment complex beside the AstroDome to be the best in the world. He hired Harper Goff to design the over-the-top deluxe VIP suites, which became legendary for hosting guests including Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali. This set of 18 design blueprints (technically called “white black blueprints”) includes nine 17.5” x 13.75” concept, layout, and elevation drawings of VIP suite concepts, and nine 22.5” blueprints of concepts for Astro Land trams in the style of covered wagons, street cars, and more historical vehicles. The plans are all in very good condition with light handling wear.
