(Ward,1959) An extremely rare production cel and matching drawing of Rocky from the opening title sequence of "Rocky and His Friends,” which aired from 1959-61 on ABC before changing networks and name. This series was created with a very small budget per episode and as such, Ward had the show animated in Mexico. Almost no original artwork from the series made it back to the United States and this piece is one of only a handful of production cels and drawings known to exist. Both measuring 10.5” x 12.5” with a character image size of 3” x 7.5”, the cel is in fine condition while the graphite and grease pencil drawing is in very good condition with light edge wear and creasing, and light discoloration from age.
