(20th Century Fox, 1989) An original style guide for"The Simpsons." Already a favorite interstitial animated segment in"The Tracy Ullman Show,""The Simpsons" debuted in their own half-hour-long animated series on December 17, 1989, with the holiday episode"Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire." The series became the longest-running animated series and sitcom in history, with over 800 episodes to date and more to come. This style guide is a window into the unique moment when The Simpsons were not yet the huge part of American culture they became. The only characters included are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie; with no mention of Apu, Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, or any of the hundreds of supporting characters who would become important parts of Springfield and The Simpsons. The three-ring binder includes character art, quotes, fonts, and packaging guidelines for merchandise. Measuring 11.75" x 10.25" x 1.75", the style guide is in very good condition with very light wear from use and age.
