(Disneyland, 1955) A one-of-a-kind "Walt Disney's Disneyland Game" production sample by Transogram. The timeless "Walt Disney's Disneyland Game" is one of the earliest pieces of licensed merchandise for Disneyland. This lot is an extremely rare pre-production sample of the original board game and pieces, created by Transogram through Walt Disney Productions Character Merchandising Division with graphics by the Walt Disney Studios. As the cover and pieces of this prototype are mockups, they feature artwork and materials differing from final production. This lot includes: (1) black and white box cover and "Playing Board" featuring no spaces and early, rough imagery of the lands, (16) black and white Cut-Out Disneyland Characters & (16) wooden stands, (4) plastic Travellers, (4) Disneyland Travel Cards, (1) full-color Tinker Bell's Magic Spinner, and instructions. The lid notably features a box reading "Important! This item is a dummy sample only. The production item will have a full color lithographed wrap and will be finished in the usual Transogram quality." This production sample of the timeless game is perhaps the most unique example of early Disneyland merchandising to ever come to auction. Contained within a 17.25"9" and 1.75" very good condition box, the contents are in fine production-used condition with expected fading, light creases, and wear from age and handling.
