(Disney, 1937) An extremely rare internal newsletter from the Walt Disney Hyperion Studio. This copy of "Mickey Mouse Deadline" Issue #1 was published in January of 1937, at a time when the artists and staff were deep in the grueling production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. While the publication is supplemented by just two illustrations (including a full-page caricature of Fred Moore and Frank Thomas), it features (15) mimeographed pages of articles written by Disney employees, including one lamenting how big the Studio had grown, many one-line gags and quotes, and a poem dedicated to the Silly Symphony "Peculiar Penguins." This lot is an original artifact offering a unique look into the personal life of the Hyperion Studio. Measuring 8.5"x11", the magazine is in very good condition, with ink blot to the cover, a repaired tear to the back cover, and light wear typical of age.
