(Reagan, 1968) A handwritten letter from future U.S. President Ronald Reagan to Mr. Light Thompson, dated August 30, 1968. Reagan rose to prominence in Hollywood, appearing in acclaimed pictures "Knute Rockne, All American" and "Kings Row," before serving as the Screen Actors Guild President and the Governor of California. Upon returning from the Republican National Convention in 1968, Reagan wrote this letter to Thompson, relaying that Nelson Rockefeller never stood a chance against then-candidate Richard Nixon and that "Now we'll all work to elect Dick." The letter features a black marker strikethrough, indicating that a secretary had transcribed the letter. Reagan signed the letter "Dutch," a childhood nickname of his. Measuring 6" x 9", the letter is in very good condition with light creases.
