(Disneyland, 1966) A WED Enterprises blueprint for the Audio-Animatronic key-holding dog from Pirates of the Caribbean. This famous mutt appears late in the ride, as jailed pirates coax it to give them the keys to their cell—an iconic scene conceived by Imagineer Marc Davis and recreated in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” Drawn by D.V. Kuchta and dated 10-12-66, the blueprint depicts the animatronic dog’s inner workings including its eye blink, head nod, and tail wag. Measuring 30” x 42.75” and 31.5” x 44.5” linen-backed for preservation, the blueprint is in good condition with stains, color loss, and heavy tears and repair work throughout, including a 4” x 4.75” torn-off section near the top right.
