(Ward, 1965) A pair of unproduced Jay Ward pitch books. “The Soap Opera Show” was to be an adult animated series featuring many characters in interweaving plotlines involving newspaper advice columns and of course hospital romance. The 14-page book is beautifully illustrated by Allan Burns. “A Hip Seminar” is an intriguing book of three cels and one original illustration that only hints at what this project may have been. Included is a promotional photo of actress Kathy Kersh who co-starred in “The Nut House!!,” Ward’s 1963 live-action pilot. The pages measuring 11” x 14” range from good to fine condition with light edge wear, light soiling, light warping to the cels, and some weakening of adhesive from age, but all materials remain attached to their pages.
