(Ward, 1960s) A pair of hand-drawn concept designs for a totem pole featuring the main cast of “Rocky and Bullwinkle.” “The Bullwinkle Totem” was planned to be installed outside Dudley Do-Right’s Emporium in Hollywood but was never built. One drawing shows a side profile while the other concept, also in graphite, shows a front view with a different layout of characters. Also included is an 8” x 10” letter with pricing and material information for crafting the totem pole. Both accomplished in graphite, the 7” x 17” concept is in good condition, and the 10” x 64” concept in poor condition, with paper brittle from age and in three separate pieces with heavy edge wear, creasing, staples, discoloration, stains, and tears ranging from 1” to 4” and areas of paper loss measuring 1” to 8”. The letter is also in poor condition, brittle from age with heavy edge wear, tears, horizontal folds, paper loss, staple holes, and discoloration.
