(Paramount, 1970) A pair of original concept drawings by Harper Goff, Art Director on the feature film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". The first drawing depicts an early "Wonka Mobile" that’s driven backwards using “front view” mirrors. The second drawing is a rough sketch of a fantastic room in the factory including Oompa-Loompas and Wonka himself. These early concepts provide a scarcely seen look at the development of this iconic classic. Both drawings are on sheets of vellum, with the Wonka Mobile drawn in felt tip, and the factory concept created in pencil. Each sheet measures approximately 17.75" x 23.75" with both in fair to poor condition overall, with some moisture staining to both sheets which has caused a blueish tint to areas of the Wonka Mobile drawing, and an orange tint to areas of the factory drawing. There are some tears, creases, and areas of wear throughout from use, including a torn portion above the head of Wonka in the factory drawing. The Wonka Mobile drawing is signed by Harper Goff in the lower-right corner.
