(Disney, 1940s) A pair of chalkware figures of Ferdinand the Bull and his mother from the 1938 Silly Symphony, "Ferdinand the Bull." The figures were first manufactured by Brayton-Laguna, a noted California ceramics company which produced several early Disney ceramics. In the years following Brayton-Laguna's run, other companies produced similar pieces, occasionally from the original molds. These figures date to the 1940s, following Brayton-Laguna's original run. Ferdinand measures 8.25"x8.5" and his mother measures 5.75"x10". Both are in good condition for their age, with a chip in Ferdinand's right horn, his back left leg, his haunches, and smaller chips to the paint throughout both.
