(Chasen's, 1992) A pair of Friday and Sunday menus from Chasen's in Los Angeles, a restaurant with strong historical ties to the entertainment industry. Hollywood stars, including Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson, Alfred Hitchcock, and Jimmy Stewart, were regulars at the trendy restaurant. Fans of its famous chili recipe included Walt Disney and Elizabeth Taylor, who famously had Chasen's chili flown from LA to the Rome set of "Cleopatra." Walt even met with conductor Leopold Stokowski at Chasen's to pitch him The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment of "Fantasia." Nancy and President Ronald Reagan had their first date at Chasen's and even got engaged in one of their booths, which now resides in the Reagan Presidential Library & Museum. Chasen's closed in 1995, but the restaurant's legacy lives on. Measuring 13" x 20" each, the menus display in fine condition with light edge wear.
