(Borgfeldt, 1920s) A pair of bisque figurines of George Studdy's Bonzo Dog. British comic strip artist George Studdy created Bonzo in 1922. He became popular in England and appeared in several prominent newspapers and magazines. In 1924, he appeared in the first of 26 animated shorts that catapulted him to worldwide popularity. The figures were manufactured in Japan and distributed through the George Borgfeldt Co. Measuring 3" tall, the figurines are in good condition, exhibiting mild dust, a few scuffs, and wear to paint.
