(Schlesinger, 1930s) A background of wires over a skyline at night, labeled MM#1. It’s likely this is an unused background from “I’ve Got to Sing a Torch Song” which includes a nearly identical scene in daytime. Two birds are faintly sketched on the wires in pencil and red pencil, Bob Clampett’s signature writing tools. Measuring 9.5” x 11.5” with an image size of 8.5” x 11.5”, the background painting accomplished in gouache is in very good condition with light wear mainly to the edges, and stamped “Courtesy of the Bob Clampett Collection.”
