(Chambers/Warner Bros., 1966-2012) One of John Chamber’s original bald cap forms, used as a background prop in “Argo.” Chambers revolutionized bald caps for television and film. Instead of using rubber, the traditional method, he used liquid plastic sprayed onto one of two metal head-shaped forms. This original form was seen behind John Goodman, portraying Chambers, in the film “Argo.” It was also used for countless historic productions including “Star Trek,” “Mission: Impossible,” and even Chambers’ work with the C.I.A. The chrome metal form is supported by a rod atop a two-part base, with the top designed to rotate easily to allow even application of the liquid plastic. The rod and base are covered with years of liquid plastic buildup from Chambers’ use. Measuring 10” x 10” x 15.5” high, the form is in very good condition with the wear expected from production use.
