(Ward, 1964) A publicity cel for “The Nut House!!” of Jay Ward and Bill Scott in straight jackets. A pilot for this live-action sketch comedy show was created by Ward and Scott along with other Rocky and Bullwinkle writers. “The Nut House!!” aired once on CBS, but was not picked up for a series. Five years later NBC’s “Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In” utilized similar quick jokes and short sketches, showing that Jay Ward was ahead of his time. With a character image size of 4.75” x 4” on a 9.25” x 12.5” cel presented on a 10.5” x 13” hand-painted color card background, the cel is in fair condition with paint loss, paint separation from the cel sticking to the background, and tape residue along the edges of both the cel and background.
