(Walt Disney World, 1987) A rare pair of first day issue Disney Dollars in $1 and $5 denominations in a custom green frame. Disneyland's in-house currency started circulation at Walt Disney World on October 2, 1987, and could be used on Park admission, food, and merchandise. It is rare to see Disney Dollars with matching serial numbers as low as these, numbered “D00000602A,” which makes them more desirable among collectors. The backs of the bills, featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Mark Twain Riverboat, are displayed on the reverse of the frame. The frame also includes an engraved plaque that reads “Disney Dollars, Walt Disney World Series 1987, First Day Issue, October 2, 1987.” Measuring 2.5” x 6” each in a 7” x 7.25” mat, within a 12.5” x 12.5” frame, the Disney Dollars are in fine condition, while the frame exhibits light wear from use.
