(John Fairchild, 1960s-1970s) An infamous faux Tiffany belt buckle with a relief of Minnie gazing at Mickey Mouse through a telescope, created by English forger John Fairchild. The text around the border reads, “Mickey’s Staff of 125 People in Hollywood Thank you from Walt Disney & United Artists Corp. One Million Mickey Mouse Club Members, Technicians-Gag-Men-Artists-Musicians.” Missing from the piece is the belt buckle backing and an oval plaque on the front that reads, “Award of Merit Mickey Mouse 1933 Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.” “Tiffany New York” is engraved on the back. Measuring 2.75” x 3.5”, the brass belt buckle is in good condition with wear, stains, and oxidation, notably on the reverse.
