(Television Arts Productions, 1950) A promotional poster for Jay Ward’s “Crusader Rabbit” animated series. This poster was an advertising example for prospective sponsors and stations. Measuring 17.25" x 22.5" the poster is in good condition with light wear at the cross folds. Jay Ward was a prominent figure in children's animation during the 1960s, known for his remarkable roster of cartoon characters, including Rocky and Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, Peabody and Sherman, and George of the Jungle. His influence extended beyond television shows, as his studio also designed iconic cereal mascots such as Cap’n Crunch, Quisp, and Quake, along with a series of animated commercials that helped solidify the connection between breakfast cereals and Saturday morning cartoons. Perhaps Jay Ward’s most significant contribution to the medium was the creation of "Crusader Rabbit," which holds the distinction of being the first animated series made exclusively for television.
