(Walter Knott, 1956-1965) A collection of three Walter Knott signed items. The lot includes a copy of Fabulous Farmer by Roger Holmes & Paul Bailey, about Knott and his Berry Farm, published in 1956 and signed by Walter Knott on August 29th of that year. In 1963, Walter Knott had the 1909 book The Americanism of Washington by Henry van Dyke reprinted. While softcover versions are commonly found, this copy comes from a smaller run printed hard bound that Knott gave as Christmas presents. It includes a message of holiday wishes from Knott in a facsimile of his handwriting on an early page. Knott personally added the greeting "Dear Jim and Barbara" on this page. An undated Christmas card included is signed by Walter Knott for both him and wife Cordelia. The final book"Walter Knott Twentieth Century Pioneer" by Norman Nygaard in 1965 is unsigned, with dust jacket. Measuring between 3.5"x6.25" and 5.75"x8.25", the Washington book and Christmas card are in fine condition, with the other books in good condition with typical wear to cover and edges from handling and age.
