(Hollywood/Las Vegas, 1950s-1960s) A complete collection of autographs from the (5) members of The Rat Pack. Legend has it the name was coined by Lauren Bacall when husband Humphrey Bogart returned home from a night in Las Vegas with a group of show business friends, and she exclaimed"You look like a g*ddamn rat pack." The group of friends took the name and informally had many members, but the name became famous after Bogart passed away in 1957, and Frank Sinatra became the de facto leader. The key members were Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. In this lot, all (5) of their signatures have been collected by one fan on pages of autograph books, then assembled here displayed with an oversized photo of the group in front of a Las Vegas marquee bearing their names. Sinatra's signature is neat and carefully written. Dean Martin's includes the dedication"To Nick." Sammy Davis Jr.'s is loose, written after"All My Best." Peter Lawford's signature is large and loopy, and Joey Bishop's includes the note"Thanks for the fits", perhaps referring to laughter at Bishop's stand up routine. The signatures are on paper with visible 2.5"x3.75" to 4"x5" size, all in very good condition. The entire framed piece measures 41.5"x32" and is in fine condition.
