(Bailey, 1969-88) A collection of ten signed correspondences sent to singer and actress Pearl Bailey from celebrities and political figures. Included are a note from comedienne Phyllis Diller, a letter from psychic Jeane Dixon, a 1972 letter from passport agent Gene Burke, a letter from Senator and Vice President Hubert Humphrey, a letter on White House stationery from First Lady Betty White, a card from Reza Shah II (son of the last Shah of Iran), a letter from 1969 New York City Mayor John Lindsay, a letter in an official portfolio from 1986 New York City Mayor Ed Koch, and a letter from the 1988 Ambassador from Jordan. Also included is a publicity photo of Bailey with a personal message written faintly across most of the image. Measuring up to the 8.75" x 12" mayoral portfolio, the collection is overall in very good condition with some light handling wear. The Jordan Ambassador letter has a small tear at the top left corner, slight soiling to the Betty White letter, and tape on the corners of the Reza Shah II card and John Lindsay letter.
