(Warner Bros., 1997) An Animated Animations electronic diorama titled "A Classic Confrontation." The piece recreates a scene from the 1940 animated short "A Wild Hare" starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. The figures of Buggs Bunny and Elmer Fudd are reverse printed serigraphs on die cut acetate. The scenic elements are lithographic prints. When a button is depressed on the side of the frame, the figures spring into motion, acting out a scene synchronized to the electronic soundtrack. A marvel of artistic and mechanical ingenuity, most of the Animated Animations extant today were not well kept up. Examples in working order, like this one, are exceedingly rare and highly desirable. The piece retains the Animated Animations seal on the foreground at lower right, is signed in black ink by the legendary Mel Blanc, and is hand-numbered "2325/2500." It is accompanied by a Warner Bros./Animated Animations COA and care manual. Measuring 17"x21" and 2.75" deep, the piece is in very good functioning condition. The plexiglass face exhibits a crack in the top over the blank mat and a faint 4" scratch in the lower margin, neither of which mar the field of vision during the action.
