(Disneyland, 1960-1982) A rare original barrel style seat from the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship and Captain Hook's Galley Restaurant. The Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship restaurant opened in 1955. Five years later the outdoor seating area was efficiently expanded, and the surrounding area's show quality was enhanced to include Herb Ryman's designs for Skull Rock Cove. The dining area was decorated with oars, sails, lanterns, and powder kegs, while the tables and chairs were patterned after barrels, crates, and pirate's booty. This stool may have been removed during a rehabilitation of the restaurant or upon its closure as Captain Hook's Galley in 1982. Measuring 19" tall and 14" in diameter the piece is in very good condition with cracks to the seat surface, and expected scuffs, scratches, and wear from exposure, handling, and age.
