(Disney, 1980s-2000s) A Disney Store display of a Duck Team story meeting featuring Carl Barks and Harry Reeves reviewing storyboards with fellow animators for the 1938 Donald Duck short “Good Scouts.” Measuring 23.25” x 18.25” the picture is mounted on foam core and is in good condition with worn corners and light surface scuffs, creases, and dents from display. In 1935, Carl Barks first found work at the Walt Disney Studio as an animation inbetweener. He worked his way onto the Donald Duck story team, then in 1942 left the Studio but still submitted art and stories for Donald Duck comics to Western Publishing. It was here he found his true calling, writing and drawing adventures for Donald Duck and his nephews, and creating Scrooge McDuck, Magica De Spell, and the entire world of Duckburg. Barks continued writing and drawing the duck’s adventures long into his reported retirement, and after a few years exploring personal interests in paintings, found great success selling paintings of the world of Duckburg he had created.
