A very neat item sold at the Tomorrowland souvenir kiosks in the first years of the park.
As Disneyland neared completion, early souvenirs were less an afterthought but more victims of time constraints. As the park aged, of course, this became less an issue with a great deal of material to create themed merchandise.
For early Tomorrowland, themed merchandise was hard to pin down. This gorgeous linen fabric is comprised of imagery culled from the Imagineering drawing tables from the exploratory stages of the Land of Tomorrow. Most of the fanciful, kidney shaped and cantelivered-boomerang structures come from Herb Ryman earliest sketches. Apparently, these were cleaned up, colored and used as futuristic patterns for this fabric which could be purchased in pre-cut amounts or by the yard. Everything from hand made dresses, shirts and table cloths to window drapes would be fashioned from this wonderful material.
This fabric measures roughly 47"x56" and is in fine condition, with some mild discoloration and creasing from being folded.
