(Disneyland, 1955) A very scarce silk-screened flag that decorated the Davy Crockett Frontier Museum and Mercantile in Frontierland on opening day of the park and throughout the next year. At the time the park opened, Disney’s Davy Crockett franchise, starring Fess Parker, had grown to record breaking status in popularity. To meet the consumer demand for everything Davy Crockett, Walt made sure the “King of the Wild Frontierland” had a major presence in the park. The Davy Crockett Frontier Museum featured historic artifacts, props, and a deluge of merchandise to appease the masses. This flag was hand-signed by Fess Parker and was acquired by the collection owner directly. Measuring 13 x 17 in. and in good condition with wear from use.
