(Disneyland, 1954) An original early concept drawing of Tomorrowland by legendary Imagineer Bruce Bushman. In 1954, the first episode of Walt Disney's "Disneyland" television show featured Walt Disney describing the different lands of his upcoming theme park. Since the park was still in its design and construction phases, there weren't photos to compliment Walt's descriptions. As such, Walt showed the thousands of wide-eyed viewers at home early original concept art for areas of the park. This original concept by Bushman, is an early concept drawing for Tomorrowland that was actually shown in the first episode of the "Disneyland" television show. The drawing would later also help provide artistic direction for the completion of the park. This concept is one of three large Bushman pieces shown during the introduction of Tomorrowland in that first episode, two of which are in this catalog, and the other is in the Walt Disney Archives. Accomplished in conte crayon and charcoal on thin artist's paper that is mounted to board, the entire piece measures 24"x30". The condition is good with some edge-wear, including torn sections along the lower-right edge and top-right corner.
